Sam kya kahega? (What will Sam say?)

Dr. Seuss is a world renowned children's author. Of late, Sameer has really started enjoying quite a few books by Dr. Seuss. They all rhyme and since Sameer is really into rhyming words these days, he loves to read them over and over again. One of his favorites is: Green Eggs and Ham. This book is a best seller of Dr. Seuss and no wonder why. Give it a read and you will understand. It's funny, simple to understand and really makes for good reading for a small child.

The storyline goes like this: a person who is busy doing his own thing gets interrupted by Sam. Sam wants him to eat the green eggs and ham that he has brought for his friend. That person keeps saying no to Sam, but Sam does not give up. He keeps following his friend and finally persists in making him try those green eggs and ham. Guess what, Sam's friend realizes that he loves those Green eggs and ham.

Sameer was so influenced by this book and that he would keep using this lesson in everything he would do, especially when he would say no to something. This was not just for food, but any activity that he was not so interested in. So he might be saying no initially to going out as he did not want to leave what he was doing at the moment, while Rahul or I would be trying to coax him, and then amazingly he would himself say, "Sam kya kahega?," and actually agree to leave his activity in the middle and go with us.

Now, even we have taken to saying, "Sam kya kahega?" to Sameer and to each other :-)
