Sameer's questions and answers

Sameer is at the stage when he asks a lot of questions. I have heard a lot about this stage. But what I find funny is he also wants us to ask him questions. Questions he already knows the answers to. This is not something I had heard about before. So for instance, this morning in the car we had a conversation about about why he kept turning his head in the other direction when I was trying to give him a snack, even though he kept saying he wanted to eat it. So he finally told me that he was looking at cars, SUVs and trucks. Then the very next minute he'll ask me to repeat my question: Mamma ask me, "Why do you keep turning your head?" and then he'll tell me why. Another instance was when he was picking out his clothes and I was telling him to choose one top. So he picked out one and then he goes, "मम्मा मुझसे पूछो, समीर आपने यह वाली t shirt क्यूँ निकाली है?"

Most occasions we both comply with his request for a query. But now I'll sometimes tell him, "Sameer what I will ask you is....?" It's usually something completely different to get both of us moving on to doing what I want him to do. It doesn't always work as sometimes he'll persist until I give in.

The other thing he loves to do these days is chat, constantly. He is always asking me or Rahul: मुझसे बातें करो। (Tell me about something.) On his part even the simplest of things end up with such long winded explanations. Today he ate cheese in the evening after waking up from his afternoon nap. Past few weeks I had been giving a piece of round cheese called Baby Bel. Today and yesterday he had a stick shaped cheddar as he was getting bored of these. Rahul gave it to him as he was home at that time. So Rahul asked him, "Did you tell mamma that you had cheese just now." So he starts, "मम्मा मैंने cheese खायी। Stick shape की थी यह. Baby bel नहीं थी यह। Round नहीं थी। Stick थी।" His hands were moving at the same time to show me the shapes just in case there is any confusion left in my mind as to which one he ate. And this is when I was there when he was eating it.

This happens for everything. Mostly it's fun to see him talking like this, although at times he ends up being late for everything because of his long-winded chats.
