Chapati Dough using KitchenAid Stand Mixer

We have been using the KitchenAid Mixer for making Chapati dough for a couple of years now. I know kneading the dough for chapatis is not a very easy or interesting task. Here's how I use this mixer to make our life a bit easy: -

1. For one cup wheat flour, use a little more than half-cup water. If you mix any other kind of flours like buckwheat, millet (jowar/bajra) you will need to use less water.

2. Knead the dough on the lowest setting. Use the dough-hook attachment.

3. Once it forms into a ball and hangs from the hook, check the firmness and knead for another minute or two.

Prenatal and Post Natal Items

Some must have items for pregnancy and afterwards with baby
  1. What to Expect When You're Expecting: It details expected changes in the baby and mom each month. Answered most of our questions related to pregnancy.
  2. Your Baby's First Year: This book always comes in handy for day-to-day questions in raising an infant. Sameer developed acne all over his face in the first month and we were concerned that it might be some skin problem, till i read the book and realized its a common problem in newborns caused by breast milk.
  3. Yoga for Your Pregnancy: I loved this DVD by Kristen Eykel. It was great in my last trimester for the backaches and the fatigue. The quality of htis video is great -- I like the music. Two things that I would change are, first, I would add Kegels in the exercise routine and second, i wish the commentray duing each exercise were a bit condensed.
  4. Perfect Pregnancy Workout: I enjoyed working out with this DVD in my first two trimesters. It was fun and invigorating. I just wish it was shot in a better location and the choice of music could have been better.
