Sameer is not so fond of orange. He likes red, black, white, blue and green. I think he's most fond of green. Sometimes, I'll show him two onesies of different color. He always goes for the green one -- whether the choice is between blue and green or white and green. On the other hand, he's really not that fond of orange. We found that out accidently. Rahul once put the classic children's book Goodnight Moon in front of him. The back cover, with an orange color background and a white circle was facing on top. Sameer looked at it and then looked away. It didn't interest him much. So Rahul reversed it and put the front cover on top with colors like green, blue yellow and some orange. It was fun looking at what happened next. Sure enough, he started flapping his arms and legs, raised himself on his tummy and inched forward by falling on his face, getting up again and falling again till he could reach the book with his arms spread in the front. Then he pulled the book to himself to taste the sweet success. It was so much fun watching him scrambling to get to the book and then opening his mouth wide to chew on it.
I have seen the same thing happen when he'll have two toys in front of him -- one orange with a rhombus in black and another one in blue with a red and black ladybug. He goes for the ladybug.
